Assam Police Apprehends Bangladeshi Nationals

In Karimganj, Assam, the state police successfully apprehended a Bangladeshi national, Md. Arif, and sent him back across the border. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared this news on X, emphasizing the vigilance of the police in preventing illegal infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Earlier, on October 9, CM Sarma reported that Assam Police had pushed back 128 Bangladeshi infiltrators over the past two months. He praised the police for their efforts in maintaining strict surveillance along the border.
On October 2, the Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya apprehended five Bangladeshi nationals traveling in an auto rickshaw. These individuals, who had been working in a garment factory in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, were attempting to cross into Bangladesh illegally. They were handed over to the local police in West Garo Hills district.
Additionally, on October 1, Assam police captured fourteen illegal Bangladeshi nationals in the South Salmara and Karimganj districts. Nine of these individuals were found with Indian Aadhaar cards.
