Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya Promotes Civil Services
On a significant day in Guwahati, Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya highlighted the importance of civil services as a noble path to serve the nation. He emphasized that civil servants are crucial in connecting the government with the public, ensuring the implementation of policies for the welfare of the state.
Event at Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University
The Governor spoke at a guidance session for candidates of the Assam Civil Services Examination under the Pratibha Protsahan Yojana at Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU). During the event, he unveiled a 12-foot bronze statue of Krishna Kanta Handique and planted a sapling as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.
Pratibha Protsahan Yojana
Governor Acharya explained that the Pratibha Protsahan Yojana aims to provide high-quality coaching and financial assistance to aspiring civil servants in Assam. He expressed hope that this initiative would contribute to a developed India by 2047.
Encouragement to Youth
The Governor urged students to adopt a “Nation First” mindset and preserve cultural values. He congratulated officials and mentors, including IAS officers Simmi Karan, Aranyak Saikia, Aditya Vikram Singh, and IPS officer Amit Mahto, for their guidance.
