Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Warns Against Online Scams and Promises 50,000 New Jobs

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has urged people to stay away from online illegal trading scams. He emphasized that there is no way to double or triple investments overnight. The Assam Police have arrested 38 people, including Bishal Phukan from Dibrugarh and Swapnanil Das from Guwahati, in connection with a Rs 2,200 crore financial scam involving fraudulent online stock market investments. An Assamese actress and her husband are also under investigation.

In other news, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that his government will create 50,000 more jobs by May 2025. He stated, “In the last three years, we have provided 1 lakh government jobs as I promised to the people of Assam during the 2021 assembly elections. Since independence, no government in the state has offered 1 lakh government jobs. By May 2025, we will create 50,000 more jobs, bringing the total to 2 lakh. Each of these jobs has been delivered without a single instance of corruption.”
