Assam CM Launches Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan 2.0

On October 18, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma introduced the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) 2.0 in Guwahati. This initiative aims to support entrepreneurship in Assam. Under the previous CMAAA 1.0, Rs. 510 crores were distributed to 25,238 entrepreneurs. The new phase will select 75,000 beneficiaries.

Incentives and Eligibility

Beneficiaries will receive Rs 5 lakhs for professional courses and Rs 2 lakhs for non-professional courses. Applicants must register on the CMAAA portal by November 18. Eligibility includes a degree in fields like engineering or medicine for professional categories, and a bank account opened before April 2024.

Additional Details

The age limit for applicants is now 45 years. Applicants must not be loan defaulters or have family members who benefited from CMAAA 1.0. The initiative also aligns with the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana for micro-credit support.

Mentorship and Support

CM Sarma also introduced 130 mentors to guide CMAAA 1.0 beneficiaries. The program aims to foster an entrepreneurial environment in Assam.
