Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Launches New Public Services and Mission Basundhara 3.0
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday launched several new public services at a function held at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati. These services include an escalation matrix, e-Chitha, land valuation certificate, and a community response portal of ASDMA.
New Public Services
The escalation matrix will set a timeframe for handling and disposing of matters under the ARTPS Act. E-Chitha, accessible through the ‘sewa setu portal,’ allows buyers to view the history of any piece of land in Assam. The land valuation certificate provides valuation information for buyers and sellers. The community response portal will help NGOs, volunteers, and the government provide aid to disaster victims.
Mission Basundhara 3.0
Chief Minister Sarma announced that Mission Basundhara 3.0 will be launched on October 2. This mission aims to help more indigenous people secure land rights. Previous phases, Mission Basundhara 1.0 and 2.0, benefitted around ten lakh people. The new phase will also consider cases where settlement offers could not be given in MB 2.0. Special provisions will be made for tea tribes, Adivasi, the Gorkha community, and six ethnic communities, exempting them from the three-generation legacy requirement.
Flood Preparedness Awards
During the event, awards were presented for flood preparedness. Morigaon and Nalbari districts secured the first position, Cachar district the second, and Golaghat and Majuli districts the third. Among departments, the Women and Child Development department secured the first position, followed by the Water Resources, Education, and PWD Roads departments in second, and the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) in third.
Chief Minister Sarma congratulated the awardees and emphasized the importance of their efforts in mitigating the effects of floods.
