Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma handed over 20 inflatable rubber boats to the Kaziranga National Park authority on Wednesday. Later, Chief Minister Sarma visited the Hatimura embankment breach point at Kaliabor to inspect the repair and restoration work. He expressed satisfaction with the progress, noting that the breach was closed in 26 days despite challenges posed by strong water currents. He stated that all embankment breaches in Assam are now closed.

Following heavy rains in Guwahati, the Chief Minister urged residents to stay indoors and avoid using vehicles unless necessary. He specifically advised against traveling towards the downtown hospital areas on GS Road.
