Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Criticizes Rahul Gandhi’s Remarks in Dallas
Assam Chief Minister and Jharkhand BJP co-incharge, Himanta Biswa Sarma, criticized Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for his remarks in Dallas, US. Sarma accused Gandhi of promoting China and humiliating India, stating, “Rahul Gandhi always promotes China. He always humiliates India and projects China as an ideal nation.”
During his visit to Dallas, Texas, on September 8, Rahul Gandhi discussed unemployment issues and criticized India for focusing on consumption rather than production. He said, “The act of production creates jobs. What we do, what the Americans do, what the West does, is we organize consumption.” Gandhi compared the current global production landscape to past decades, noting that countries like China now dominate production.
Gandhi also addressed ideological differences with the RSS, stating, “The RSS believes that India is one idea and we believe that India is a multiplicity of ideas.” He added that Congress supports inclusion and diversity while accusing the Prime Minister of attacking the Indian Constitution.
The BJP has strongly accused Rahul Gandhi of undermining India’s image with criticisms abroad. MP Manoj Tiwari accused Gandhi of allegedly undermining India’s image by making critical remarks abroad. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan criticized Gandhi for ‘tarnishing’ India’s image abroad and accused him of betraying the country. BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia called Gandhi a “black spot on democracy.” Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha also criticized Gandhi for his remarks on “RSS and unemployment,” accusing him of wanting to insult the country and tarnish its image.
