Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his comments on the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Sarma suggested that Gandhi should focus on helping the people of Wayanad, his parliamentary constituency, who are currently in distress.

Rahul Gandhi had claimed that an insider informed him about an impending ED raid. In response, Gandhi stated he is ready and waiting with open arms.

Sarma also discussed the BJP’s preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand. He emphasized the need for hard work and dedication to secure a win for a better future for Jharkhand. The assembly polls in Jharkhand, along with Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jammu and Kashmir, are scheduled for 2025.

In the 2019 assembly elections, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) allied with Congress and Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) to secure a comfortable majority with forty-seven seats in the 81-member house.
