Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to form the next government in Jharkhand. He emphasized the need to replace the current government with the BJP’s ‘double-engine’ government, citing positive responses from previous elections.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur highlighted that forming Jharkhand as a separate state was a dream realized by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Thakur criticized the current Jharkhand government for failing to fulfill promises and for corruption, stating that the people are ready for change.

On the other hand, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who was recently released from jail, won a vote of trust in the State Assembly. Soren’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) party, which won three seats in the Lok Sabha elections, is now strengthened by his return.

In 2019, the JMM, in alliance with the Congress and Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD), secured a comfortable majority in the Jharkhand Assembly elections.
