Assam Police Push Back 128 Bangladeshi Infiltrators

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Assam Police have successfully pushed back 128 Bangladeshi infiltrators over the past two months. In a recent post, CM Sarma praised the police for their vigilance along the Indo-Bangla border. Two infiltrators, Babul Hussain and Sakib Mia, were apprehended early Wednesday.

Recent Apprehensions

On October 2, the Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya caught five Bangladeshi nationals traveling in an auto rickshaw. These individuals, who had been working in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, were attempting to cross into Bangladesh illegally. They were handed over to the Dalu Police Station in West Garo Hills district.

Earlier, on October 1, Assam police apprehended fourteen illegal Bangladeshi nationals in South Salmara and Karimganj districts. Among them, nine were found with Indian Aadhaar cards.

Chief Minister’s Statement

CM Sarma commended the Assam Police for their efforts, stating, “128 Bangladeshis pushed back in last 2 months. Maintaining strict vigil along the Indo-Bangla border, Assam Police has pushed back 128 infiltrators across the border. Good job Team!”
