Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Launches Birth Certificate and Aadhaar Card Issuance for Newborns in Medical Colleges
The Assam government has started issuing birth certificates and Aadhaar cards to newborns at all its medical colleges, according to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. This initiative was launched on the 78th Independence Day and aims to simplify the registration process for newborns.
New Centres Established
Birth certificate and Aadhaar enrolment centres have been established in all medical colleges across Assam. Chief Minister Sarma announced this new process on X, stating that it will ensure hassle-free registration at medical colleges. The centres in 12 medical colleges were inaugurated on the 78th Independence Day.
Land Pattas Distribution
Earlier, Chief Minister Sarma attended a ceremony at the DC office in Amingaon, Kamrup district, where he distributed land pattas to residents of four villages in Barbangshar Mouza. A total of 881 land pattas, covering 369 bighas, 2 kathas, and 10 lechas of land, were distributed to residents of Barpalaha, Gog, Dakshin Mandakata, and Bhomolahati villages.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister highlighted the challenges posed by the lack of land pattas, including difficulties in securing fair compensation during land acquisition and accessing bank loans and other benefits.
