Vivek Vishal, ADB Senior Project Officer, emphasized ADB’s commitment to supporting Himachal Pradesh’s tourism and economic growth. The project will focus on heritage and cultural centers in Mandi and Hamirpur, restore Naggar Castle in Kullu, and beautify public spaces. A convention center will be built in Kangra, with improved amenities in Kullu, Hamirpur, and Kangra.

Green and Inclusive Solutions

The project will incorporate green solutions like solar lighting and electric vehicles, catering to elderly visitors, women, children, and persons with disabilities. New facilities such as wellness centers, tourist recreation facilities, an adventure sports center, a water park complex, and biking trails will be developed.

Economic and Community Benefits

These developments are expected to create jobs and boost the regional economy. ADB will also enhance the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Board’s capacity by assisting in creating a tourism strategy and marketing plan. Support for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises through training and skills development will enable local communities to provide high-quality tourism services.
