The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) treasurer, Ashish Shelar, thanked fans for their overwhelming support during the victory parade and felicitation ceremony for the T20 World Cup-winning Indian team at Wankhede Stadium.
Victory Parade
The parade, led by Rohit Sharma, started from Marine Drive. Fans gathered in large numbers, dancing and celebrating India’s success. The parade concluded at Wankhede Stadium, where the team was felicitated.
Felicitation Ceremony
At the stadium, the players danced to the beats of dhol and distributed balls to the fans. Fans also took selfies and asked for autographs from the cricketers. The BCCI office bearers presented the team with a cheque of Rs 125 crores.
Match Highlights
In the final, India’s pace trio of Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya showcased excellent death bowling, helping India secure their second T20 World Cup title. Contributions from Virat Kohli and Axar Patel led India to a total of 176/7. This victory ended a 13-year ICC World Cup trophy drought, making India the first team to win the T20 World Cup title unbeaten.
