Asaduddin Owaisi Criticizes President Murmu’s Address

New Delhi, India – AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi criticized President Droupadi Murmu’s joint address, calling it ‘old wine in a new bottle’. Owaisi pointed out the lack of mention of minorities and unemployment in the address. He also highlighted US State Secretary Antony Blinken’s comments on the increase in hate speech in India and the demolition of religious places of minorities.

President Murmu’s Address

President Droupadi Murmu addressed the joint session of Parliament, criticizing the 1975 emergency imposed by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She assured that major economic and social decisions would be announced in the upcoming Union Budget. Murmu emphasized the government’s commitment to fair investigations of paper leaks in the NEET exam and stringent punishment for the guilty.

Reactions from Leaders

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of using the President’s address to gain cheap applause. Kharge claimed that the speech was scripted by Modi’s government and rejected by the public in the 2024 elections.
