Asaduddin Owaisi Criticizes Congress for BJP’s Success in Haryana Elections

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi

Hyderabad, Telangana

On Wednesday, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi criticized the Congress party for not capitalizing on anti-incumbency in Haryana, which he believes led to the BJP’s success. Owaisi stated, “Congress party should have taken advantage of the 10 years of anti-incumbency, but it seems that due to their internal differences, BJP got the benefit.”

He further commented on the Congress’s failure to defeat the BJP, despite being the main opposition. Owaisi remarked, “You (Congress) are the main opposition there and had the golden opportunity to defeat BJP but could not do it.”

Congress’s Allegations on EVMs

Owaisi also addressed Congress’s claims about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), saying, “It is very easy to blame EVMs. You win due to EVMs and when you lose, then it is wrong.”

BJP’s Victory in Haryana

The BJP is set to form its third consecutive government in Haryana, winning 48 out of 90 seats. The Congress secured 37 seats.

Election Commission’s Response

The Election Commission dismissed Congress’s allegations of a slowdown in updating election results, calling them “ill-founded.” This response came after Congress leaders accused the EC of influencing the results.
