Arvind Kejriwal Reacts to Donald Trump’s Promise on Energy Prices

In New Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, commented on former US President Donald Trump’s recent promise to cut electricity and energy prices by half. Kejriwal humorously noted that the ‘free ki revdi’ model, a term for freebies, has reached the United States. The Delhi government, under Kejriwal, has implemented several free services like electricity, water, and bus rides for women, which have been criticized by rivals as wasteful.

Trump’s promise, made on social media, included plans to expedite environmental approvals and double electricity capacity to reduce inflation and make America a prime location for factories. Kejriwal retweeted Trump’s post, highlighting the similarity to his own governance model.

The Aam Aadmi Party quickly praised the ‘Kejriwal Model,’ suggesting that Trump’s announcement reflects its global influence. AAP MP Raghav Chadha claimed that Trump’s proposal shows how Kejriwal’s governance sets a global benchmark with affordable electricity, free water, quality healthcare, and education.

Kejriwal, recently released from Tihar Jail after being arrested in the Delhi excise policy case, resigned as Chief Minister, stating he would not return until the public re-elects AAP. Atishi has succeeded him as Chief Minister. Meanwhile, Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, is aiming for a return to the White House, competing against Democrat Kamala Harris, who could become the first female and Indian-origin US President if elected. The US elections are set for November 5.
