Arvind Kejriwal Granted Bail by Supreme Court, AAP Celebrates
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the Supreme Court granted bail to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader. She accused the BJP of trying to jail opposition leaders to maintain power.
Sunita Kejriwal, along with AAP leaders Manish Sisodia, Atishi, and Sanjay Singh, distributed sweets to celebrate the bail. She congratulated the AAP family for staying strong and wished for the release of other jailed AAP leaders.
AAP MP Raghav Chadha thanked the Supreme Court for the bail, calling Kejriwal a symbol of honest politics. He mentioned that Kejriwal’s increasing popularity led to his six-month imprisonment and expressed joy over the decision.
The Supreme Court granted bail to Kejriwal in a corruption case related to the alleged excise policy scam. The court stated that prolonged incarceration is an unjust deprivation of liberty. Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, 2024, and later by the CBI on June 26, 2024, in connection with the case.
