Arvind Kejriwal Challenges BJP After Alleged Attack in Vikaspuri
In New Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating an attack against him during a foot march in Vikaspuri. Kejriwal questioned if the BJP intended to harm him and challenged them to face him in elections. He emphasized his lack of desire for power, stating his focus is on Delhi’s development.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh claimed that Delhi’s citizens would retaliate against this insult in the elections. Meanwhile, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj criticized the Delhi Police and BJP for not taking action against the attackers.
The BJP, however, accused Kejriwal of playing the victim card. BJP Delhi Chief Virendraa Sachdeva claimed that Kejriwal was confronted by locals over poor water quality and accused him of avoiding public scrutiny.
Kejriwal, recently released from Tihar Jail after being arrested in a Delhi excise policy case, resigned from his Chief Minister position, stating he would not return until the public reaffirmed their trust in him. Assembly elections in Delhi are anticipated in early 2025, with AAP having won 62 out of 70 seats in the 2020 elections.
