The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced a list of 40 star campaigners for the upcoming Assam by-polls scheduled for November 13. Key figures such as AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal, former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Delhi CM Atishi, and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh will be leading the campaign efforts.

Other notable AAP leaders like Delhi Ministers Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, and Imran Hussain, along with Sandeep Pathak, Harbhajan Singh, and Harpal Singh Cheema, are also part of the campaign team.

Assam By-Polls Overview

The by-polls will take place in five assembly constituencies: Behali, Dholai, Samaguri, Bongaigaon, and Sidli. A total of 38 candidates have filed nominations for these seats.

Congress Candidates

The Congress party has fielded candidates for all five seats. Tanzil Hussain, son of former Assam Minister and Lok Sabha MP Rakibul Hussain, will contest from Samaguri. Dhrubajyoti Purakayastha is the candidate for Dholai, Sanjib Warle for Sidli, Brajenjit Sinha for Bongaigaon, and former BJP leader Jayanta Borah for Behali.

BJP and Allies

The ruling BJP has candidates for three seats: Diganta Ghatowar for Behali, Diplu Ranjan Sarma for Samaguri, and Nihar Ranjan Das for Dholai. Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), an ally of BJP, has nominated Diptimoyee Choudhury for Bongaigaon. United People’s Party Liberal, another BJP ally, has fielded Nirmal Kumar Brahma for Sidli.
