Adopting TB Patients in Lower Dibang Valley

Arunachal Pradesh Governor, Lt General KT Parnaik (Retd.), has adopted two tuberculosis (TB) patients from the Lower Dibang Valley district. This is part of his commitment to eradicating TB in the state under the Nikshay Mitra initiative. During his visit to the District Hospital in Roing, he toured the wards and presented food baskets to the patients he adopted. The Nikshay Mitra initiative provides TB patients with nutritional, diagnostic, and vocational support.

Promoting Health and Awareness

Governor Parnaik interacted with local MLAs Mutchu Mithi and Puinnyo Apum, as well as health officials, emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal to eliminate TB in India by 2025. He encouraged public support for this mission and urged health officials to promote healthy lifestyles and use technology for better health planning. He praised the dedication of healthcare workers in driving social reforms.

Environmental Efforts: ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’

Alongside the First Lady of the State, Anagha Parnaik, the Governor participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ plantation program at Anini and District Hospital, Roing. This initiative, organized by the Divisional Forest Officers of Anini and Dibang Forest Divisions, encourages planting trees in honor of mothers. The program aims to increase green cover, combat climate change, and protect biodiversity, fostering a connection to nature.
