Arunachal Pradesh Governor KT Parnaik Encourages Students and Supports Rehabilitation Efforts

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) [India] September 27: Arunachal Pradesh Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) interacted with students from Tawang and West Kameng districts who participated in the National Integration Tour to Delhi and Mussoorie at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar. The Governor encouraged the students to use their experiences to become more informed, respectful, and responsible individuals. He emphasized that India’s strength lies in its people and that the students are the future of the nation. With knowledge and understanding, they can contribute to making India even greater by 2047.

The Governor highlighted India’s unique ability to harmonize various traditions, languages, landscapes, and lifestyles, promoting unity in diversity. He advised the students and teachers to take pride in their vibrant and timeless culture and to inspire others to contribute positively to the community and country.

Major Ashish Singh, the officer in charge of the tour, briefed the Governor about the twenty selected students and teachers from Government Higher Secondary Schools in Tawang and West Kameng districts who participated in the tour named ‘Vigyan Siksha Bhraman’. They visited prestigious institutions and landmarks in Delhi and Mussoorie, including Rashtrapati Bhawan, the new Sansad Bhavan, IIT Delhi, the Indian Military Academy, and the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration.

During his recent tour to West Siang District, the Governor visited the Mother’s Vision Rehabilitation Centre at Aalo. He interacted with mothers, officials, volunteers, and recovered inmates, commending the NGO’s efforts in providing hope, dignity, and second chances to individuals in challenging circumstances. The Governor, a champion of a drug-free society, emphasized the importance of addressing root causes and building pathways for reintegration into society. He announced a donation of Rs 5 lakh to support the rehabilitation centre’s work.

Mother’s Vision, established in 2013 and led by chairperson Jumde Yomgam Gamlin, works against drug addiction and alcoholism. The NGO conducts awareness campaigns, orientation sessions, workshops, and anonymous counseling, starting from Aalo town and extending to nearby villages and schools in West Siang district and beyond.
