Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu Donates Rs 5 Crore for Tripura Flood Relief

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has sanctioned Rs 5 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to provide immediate assistance to those affected by the devastating floods in Tripura. He expressed solidarity with the people of Tripura and assured them of support during this challenging time.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha thanked Pema Khandu and the government of Arunachal Pradesh for their generous contribution. Dr. Saha also donated his entire one month’s salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support ongoing relief and rehabilitation activities. He urged citizens and organizations to join him in supporting the relief efforts.

The floods, which began on August 19, have resulted in 31 deaths and displaced over 72,000 people. According to the State Relief, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Department, 492 relief camps have been set up to shelter the displaced individuals. Clothing has been distributed to about 300 people in Amarpur and Karbook Sub-Division.

Six teams of the State Disaster Response Force and five teams of the National Disaster Response Force are actively working on relief operations in Gomati and Sepahijala Districts. Additionally, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced financial assistance of Rs 20 crore to Tripura. The Tripura government has also requested the central government to send an advance Inter-Ministerial Central Team for an on-site assessment of the flood damage.
