On August 28, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu dedicated the new Arunachal Bhawan in Tinsukia, Assam, to the people of the state, especially those from eastern Arunachal districts. The facility, which matches the amenities of a 3-star property, symbolizes the strong bond between the people of Arunachal and Assam.

The Bhawan, built on land donated by the Government of Assam, is located in Bordoloi Nagar, near Civil Hospital, Tinsukia. It replaces the old Inspection Bungalow and offers a modern space for citizens visiting Assam for health check-ups, business, and other needs. Khandu praised the quality of work and design, crediting the PWD (Eastern Zone) and the construction agency for completing the building in just two years.

The new Bhawan includes a state-of-the-art cultural hall and will benefit both the people of eastern Arunachal and the Tinsukia district administration for official and cultural events. Similar facilities have been completed in Dibrugarh, Tezpur, Guwahati, and Bodh Gaya, with a new Bhawan in Dwarka, New Delhi, set to open soon.

Khandu appreciated the presence of local Assam legislator Bolin Chetia, Tinsukia administration officials, community leaders, and cultural troupes. He emphasized the strong bond between Arunachal and Assam and highlighted the progress in infrastructure and communication under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Khandu also praised Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for his role in the region’s development.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Speaker Tesam Pongte, legislators, and officials from eastern Arunachal districts were also present at the event.
