Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu Promises Land for New Hindi Institute
Rono Hills (Arunachal Pradesh), September 25: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has assured a suitable plot of land for the establishment of a Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (Central Institute of Hindi) Regional Centre in Arunachal Pradesh. This announcement was made during the Silver Jubilee celebration of the Department of Hindi at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU).
Addressing the event, which was attended by Prof Sunil Baburao Kulkarni, Director of the Sansthan, Khandu stated that the state government’s proposal has been accepted by the central government. The state now needs to provide sufficient land for the institute’s regional centre.
“Arunachal Pradesh is the only state in the North East that has adopted Hindi as its common language. Establishing a regional centre of the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan here will enhance the quality of the language,” Khandu said.
The Sansthan, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has its headquarters in Agra and runs eight regional centres, including three in the North East.
Khandu congratulated the Hindi Department of RGU on its 25th anniversary and praised its students for excelling in fields like poetry, storytelling, and novel writing. He emphasized the importance of Hindi in uniting the diverse ethnic groups in Arunachal Pradesh.
“Our Hindi may not be the purest, but it is the sole medium of communication between different tribes and communities in the state,” Khandu said. He encouraged RGU to help refine the Hindi spoken in Arunachal to strengthen connections with the rest of India.
Khandu also noted that the widespread use of Hindi in Arunachal has opened opportunities for local talent in Bollywood and national Hindi singing reality shows. He believes that improving Hindi language skills will unlock more opportunities for the people of Arunachal in various fields across India.
The celebration was attended by RGU Vice Chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Doimukh MLA Nabam Vivek, officials, faculty members, and students.
