Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu lauded the Kurung Kumey district police for ensuring that essential supplies reached villages affected by recent landslides. He praised their bravery in navigating difficult terrain to deliver rations to villages like Chaching, Sarli, Palo, and Raktepu.

Earlier, Khandu held a high-level meeting to assess the damage and plan immediate restoration efforts. He emphasized the urgency of restoring road connectivity, especially in flood-affected districts, and allocated special funds for the restoration of the critical road link from Parsi-Parlo to Koloriang, including the bridge over the Kumey River.

The Chief Minister also instructed relevant departments to ensure the timely provision of essential medicines and food supplies to affected areas. He was briefed on the successful reopening of the Damin road, which had been cut off due to incessant rains and floods.

Additionally, Khandu requested the Union Civil Aviation Ministry to increase flight connectivity to and from the Donyi Polo Airport in Itanagar to improve the quality of life, connectivity, tourism, and commerce in the state. He noted that current flights are operating at full capacity, leading to high travel fares and ticket unavailability.
