Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu Approves New Law to Prevent Exam Cheating
Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) [India], July 15: The Arunachal Pradesh cabinet has approved a new law called ‘The Arunachal Pradesh Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act 2024’. This law aims to stop cheating and question paper leaks during recruitment exams.
The decision was made during a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu. The new law includes strict penalties, including fines up to one crore rupees and imprisonment. It will be discussed in the upcoming session of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly starting on July 19.
The law will ensure fair selection for government jobs in Arunachal Pradesh. The cabinet also approved a proposal to organize 13 different job categories under the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) into a common group with the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service and Secretariat Service. This will help manage human resources better and ensure fair recruitment.
Previously, all job categories under the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission were merged into the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Secretariat Service. Officers from the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service and Secretariat Service will now be transferred to the APSSB for three-year terms.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister and Cabinet Ministers were briefed by top police officials on new criminal laws aimed at improving public safety and legal procedures. They discussed plans for implementing these laws, including training for law enforcement, public awareness campaigns, and monitoring systems. The Chief Minister and Ministers emphasized the need for a coordinated approach to successfully adopt these reforms.
