As the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi approaches, artisans in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli and Madurai districts are busy crafting eco-friendly Ganesh idols. These idols, painted with herbal colors, come in various sizes, colors, and designs. Some idols are green, some blue, and others depict Lord Ganesh sitting on a cow or a lion, showcasing the artisans’ skills.

In Jaipur, sculptors are also making eco-friendly statues. Many are using more clay and less plaster of Paris due to the high demand for eco-friendly idols. Buyers are visiting shops to book their favorite idols.

Multiple cities around the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, and the Kashmir valley, are gearing up for grand celebrations. The famous Lalbagh ka Raja statue from Mumbai is set to appear in Delhi this year. Ganesh Chaturthi, a popular Hindu festival, celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha and is celebrated for 10 days. People believe that during this time, Lord Ganesha arrives on Earth with his mother, Goddess Parvati.
