Arrest of Shooter and Accomplices in Baba Siddique Murder Case
In a significant breakthrough, a joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and the Mumbai Crime Branch led to the arrest of the main shooter in the Baba Siddique murder case. The operation took place in Nanpara, Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, where the accused, Shiva Kumar, was apprehended while attempting to flee to Nepal.
Alongside Shiva Kumar, four other individuals—Anurag Kashyap, Gyan Prakash Tripathi, Akash Srivastava, and Akhileshendra Pratap Singh—were also arrested. They are accused of aiding Shiva Kumar’s escape and providing him shelter. The team involved in the operation consisted of six officers and fifteen personnel.
The Uttar Pradesh STF revealed that the shooters confessed to committing the murder under the orders of Lawrence Bishnoi, a notorious gangster currently in prison. They admitted to receiving logistical support from Shubham Lonkar and Mohammad Yaseen Akhtar, who helped coordinate the crime.
Shiva Kumar confessed that he communicated with Lawrence Bishnoi’s younger brother, Anmol, through a social media app. He was promised ten lakh rupees for the murder and additional monthly payments. Shubham Lonkar and Yaseen Akhtar provided weapons, cartridges, SIM cards, and mobile phones for the crime.
After the murder, the shooters were given new SIM cards and phones to maintain communication. They had been monitoring Baba Siddique in Mumbai for several days before carrying out the murder on the night of October 12, 2024, in Bandra, Mumbai. Baba Siddique, aged 66, was tragically shot dead by three gunmen.
