Arrest of Amarjeet, Notorious Sharpshooter of Neeraj Bawania Gang, in Sonepat
In a significant breakthrough, police have arrested Raghu alias Amarjeet, a notorious sharpshooter of the Neeraj Bawania gang, from Sonepat, Haryana. Amarjeet, a 35-year-old resident of Hassanpur village, was involved in a double murder in Delhi’s Subhash Place in 2014 and had been evading court proceedings since then.
Amarjeet was declared a proclaimed offender by the Rohini Court in February 2019. Despite being on the run, he continued his criminal activities, including attempts to murder in the Delhi NCR region. The Delhi Police Crime Branch, acting on a tip-off, apprehended him near a wineshop in Hassanpur.
During interrogation, Amarjeet confessed to his involvement in the 2014 gang war between the Neeraj Bawania Gang and the Neetu Dabodia gang, which resulted in a double murder. He also admitted to participating in several other criminal activities, including murder, dacoity, and robbery.
Amarjeet’s criminal journey began in 2009 when he committed his first murder due to an old enmity. He was imprisoned in Sonepat Jail, where he met members of the Neeraj Bawania Gang and joined them. After his release in 2013, he became actively involved in various crimes under the gang’s influence.
The police have been closely monitoring the activities of gang members in Delhi-NCR, especially those involved in firing incidents. Amarjeet’s arrest is a significant step in curbing gang-related crimes in the region.
