Arjun Babuta Reflects on His First Olympics Experience

Olympian and shooter Arjun Babuta shared his thoughts on his debut at the Olympics, calling it a learning experience. On Tuesday, Babuta came close to winning a medal in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle event but finished 4th due to nerves.

China’s Sheng Lihao won the gold medal with 252.2 points, Sweden’s Victor Lindgren took silver with 251.4 points, and Croatia’s Miran Maricic earned bronze with 230.0 points.

Babuta mentioned that despite good preparation, he missed out by a slight margin and acknowledged the role of luck. He credited the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) and Khelo India for their support in his training.

Babuta also praised Swapnil Kusale, who won a bronze medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3P event with 451.4 points, saying he deserved it due to his hard work and past performances.

Rhythm Sangwan, another shooter, also appreciated the support from the TOPS scheme and expressed her excitement about representing India. She participated in the 10m air pistol mixed team competition and finished 10th, and also placed 15th in the singles qualification round.
