Argentina’s Foreign Minister, Diana Mondino, recently completed a five-day official visit to India, where she co-chaired the 7th India-Argentina Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) with India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar. The visit, from October 5-9, focused on enhancing bilateral relations across various sectors.

Key Discussions and Meetings

During the JCM, the leaders discussed cooperation in defense, energy, space, nuclear, IT, railways, infrastructure, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, education, agriculture, and mining. Mondino also met with India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep S Puri, and Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal.

Business Delegation and Events

FM Mondino was accompanied by a 17-member business delegation from sectors like mining, agriculture, and biotechnology. They engaged with Indian trade leaders at a business event organized by CII, presided over by Mondino and Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry.

Strengthening Strategic Partnership

The visit coincided with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 5th anniversary of the strategic partnership between India and Argentina. Both nations share values of mutual respect and commitment to the rule of law, with relations strengthening over decades.
