Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 10: BJP MP Anurag Thakur launched a strong attack on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his comments made in the USA. Thakur accused Gandhi of trying to tarnish India’s image abroad and claimed that the Congress party’s strategy is to divide the nation based on caste, religion, or region.

Thakur stated, “Britishers have gone but left their mindset to the Congress people. They want to divide the nation based on caste, religion, or region. It’s their strategy to go abroad and malign the country’s image. Whenever Rahul Gandhi has gone abroad, he has always maligned the image of the country. Rahul Gandhi ji, this would do nothing. Taking funds from China and opinions from Pakistan would do nothing. The people of this nation will cast their vote and they have rejected Congress.”

This statement comes in response to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in the United States, where he highlighted the challenges faced by Sikhs in India, questioning whether they can freely wear their turban, kada, and visit Gurdwaras.

Gandhi said, “First of all, you have to understand what the fight is about. The fight is not about politics. It is superficial. What is your name? The fight is about whether he, as a Sikh, is going to be allowed to wear his turban in India. Or he as a Sikh is going to be allowed to wear a kada in India. Or a Sikh is going to be able to go to Gurdwara. That’s what the fight is about and not just for him, for all religions.”

He also claimed that the “fear of Prime Minister Narendra Modi” among people had vanished after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections results were declared. During his visit to the USA, Gandhi interacted with students and teachers at the University of Texas and addressed the Indian diaspora in Dallas and Virginia.
