Anurag Thakur Criticizes Rahul Gandhi and Congress for Silence on Hindu Atrocities in Bangladesh

BJP MP Anurag Thakur has criticized Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party for their silence on the violence against Hindus and other minority communities in Bangladesh. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Thakur pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized the need for peace, security, and development for these communities in Bangladesh.

Thakur questioned why Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, did not mention the safety of Hindus in their congratulatory messages to Bangladesh’s new interim government. He accused the Congress party of double standards, expressing concern about Gaza while ignoring the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh.

Prime Minister Modi had earlier congratulated Professor Muhammad Yunus on becoming the head of Bangladesh’s interim government and stressed the importance of protecting minority communities. The Indian government has also formed a five-member committee to monitor the situation on the India-Bangladesh border, ensuring the safety of Indian citizens and minorities in Bangladesh.

The political situation in Bangladesh remains volatile, with Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus leading the interim government following the resignation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina amid student-led protests.
