Anurag Thakur Criticizes Jharkhand Government for Corruption and Lack of Development

Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur has expressed concerns about the state of Jharkhand, stating that the conditions are conducive to corruption and there is a lack of will in the government to bring in investments and develop the state.

Corruption and Lack of Development

Speaking to reporters in Ranchi, Thakur questioned why investments are not coming to Jharkhand. He attributed this to the prevalent corruption and the government’s lack of interest in development. Thakur noted that despite being a separate state for over two decades, Jharkhand has not achieved the expected levels of development.

Unfulfilled Promises

Thakur criticized the Hemant Soren government for not fulfilling promises made before coming to power. He pointed out instances of large sums of money being seized, indicating rampant corruption. Thakur also mentioned the government’s failure to provide unemployment allowances to the youth, despite promising employment opportunities.

Comparison with Other States

Thakur compared Jharkhand’s situation with the development seen in Uttar Pradesh and Assam under the BJP’s ‘double-engine’ government. He highlighted the improvements in the criminal system, investment, and development in these states, suggesting that better governance could lead to similar progress in Jharkhand.
