Anurag Thakur Criticizes Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Sukhu Over Financial Crisis

BJP MP Anurag Thakur has criticized Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu for the financial crisis in the state. Thakur accused the government of benefiting its friends while neglecting government employees. He questioned the delay in salary disbursement despite the opening of 600 schools, colleges, and hospitals.

Thakur said, “What is the condition of Himachal Pradesh? Is any of you a pensioner? What is the date today? Did you get your pension? Did the government employees receive their salaries? It is September 4, but there is no trace of salary. Himachal Pradesh never saw such bad days. ‘Congress aayi, bure din laayi’… The arrival of Congress was bad news… The CM is saying that the BJP opened 600 schools, colleges, and hospitals, and that is the reason that they are not able to disburse salaries… What else would a government do if they wouldn’t open schools and hospitals? This government is benefiting its friends but it is torturing government employees.”

In response, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu assured that state employees would receive their due salary on September 4. Sukhu explained that when his party was elected, there was an economic crisis, which they have since brought under control. He also noted that the economy has improved by 20% compared to last year.

Sukhu said, “They will get the salary tomorrow. It was a financial prudence, a financial discipline. The public has to be told that when we give you the salary five days before, we do that by taking a loan at an interest rate of 7.5% at an expense of Rs 3 crore monthly for those 5 days. So, it has to be streamlined. So, our government is working towards this for financial reforms with an intent to streamline. When we came to power, there was an economic crisis, and we brought it under control, and rapid improvements are taking place. Economy has improved by 20 percent as compared to last year.”
