Anurag Thakur Criticizes Congress and Rahul Gandhi Over Constitution Amendments

BJP MP Anurag Thakur

New Delhi, India – Bharatiya Janata Party MP Anurag Thakur criticized the Congress party on Sunday, accusing them of destroying the essence of the Constitution through frequent amendments. Thakur highlighted that the Congress imposed an emergency in India, jailing opposition leaders and media persons, and taking away common man’s rights. He called this the darkest period of Independent India.

Thakur also mocked Rahul Gandhi, saying that despite waving the Constitution everywhere, he couldn’t answer basic questions about it, like how many pages it has. Thakur stated, “Rahul Gandhi has not read the foreword and the preface of the Constitution copy. Had he read it, he would have answered when I asked- How many pages the original Constitution has? He or his members could not reply to that.”

Thakur accused the Congress party of imposing “the dark chapter of emergency” on the country and urged them to abandon hypocrisy and issue an apology to the nation. He said, “Rahul Gandhi and his Congress party are showing more love for the Constitution. The truth will not change by showing a copy of the Constitution and taking false oaths on it. If anyone has insulted the Constitution, then it is the Congress and the Gandhi family. Just waving the copy of the Constitution will not work, it will have to be read as well. The black chapter of Emergency was imposed on the country by the Congress. You should give up hypocrisy and apologize to the country.”
