Former Tamil Nadu and Chennai Super Kings cricketer Anirudha Srikkanth has praised Virat Kohli for his exceptional leadership in Test cricket. Kohli, who debuted internationally in 2008, has played 118 Test matches for India, scoring 9,040 runs with an average of 47.83, including 29 centuries and 31 fifties. He is the fourth-highest run-scorer and century-maker for India in Tests.

During 2016-2019, Kohli’s performance peaked as he scored 4,208 runs in 43 Tests at an average of 66.79, with 16 centuries and 10 fifties. He set a record for the most double centuries by a captain in Tests, with seven. Kohli’s captaincy led India to 40 wins in 68 Tests, with a win percentage of over 58. His leadership style emphasized fitness, a winning mentality, and developing a strong team of fast bowlers, contributing to India’s success in the ICC World Test Championship.
