Animal Activist Mudavath Preethi Reports Cruelty Case in Rangareddy, Telangana
A shocking case of animal cruelty has been reported in the Rangareddy district of Telangana. The police have arrested an accused who tied a dog to a pole and beat it with metal wires.
Complaint Filed by Mudavath Preethi
Animal activist Mudavath Preethi filed the complaint on August 22 at the Moinabad Police Station. She stated that the accused tied the stray dog by its neck to an electric pole and beat it with wires. After the dog’s death, the accused tied the lifeless body to his bike, dragged it, and discarded it in an agricultural field near his house.
Legal Actions Taken
The FIR has been filed under Section 325 of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and Section 11 (1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Mudavath Preethi, who works for the Stray Animal Foundation of India, filed the complaint based on information received from a local resident named Kranthi.
Investigation and Urgent Need for Stronger Laws
On August 22, Mudavath Preethi and her manager Adulapuram Goutham visited the Moinabad Police Station to lodge a formal complaint and requested the registration of an FIR against the accused. They accompanied Sub-Inspector Kishan Singh to the crime scene for further investigation, after which they received the FIR copy. Mudavath Preethi emphasized the urgent need for stronger enforcement of animal protection laws.
