As the voting for 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana takes place, Anil Vij, the BJP candidate from Ambala Cantt, expressed confidence in the BJP forming the government. He hinted at the possibility of becoming the Chief Minister, citing his seniority in the party. Vij stated, “…BJP will form its govt in Haryana. CM will be decided by the party if the party wants me, then our next meeting will be in the Chief Minister’s residence. I am the senior most in the party…”

Vij also mentioned that the people of Ambala would support the BJP as the Lotus symbol represents peace. He remarked, “The people of Ambala want to stay peacefully, they do not want hooliganism back here…Peace means the symbol of lotus…BJP will form its government in Haryana…Kumari Selja is feeling suffocated in Congress, she is not being respected in the party…”

Meanwhile, voting began for the 90 assembly seats in Haryana on Saturday, with a voter turnout of 9.53 percent till 9 AM, according to the Election Commission of India. Jind recorded the highest poll percentage of 12.71 percent, followed by Palwal at 12.45 percent, and Ambala at 11.87 percent. Voting started at 7 am and will continue until 6 pm.

A total of 1,031 candidates are contesting in all 90 assembly constituencies, with 20,632 polling booths set up for voting. The results for the Haryana Assembly elections will be declared on October 8, along with those of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Chief Electoral Officer noted that 29,462 police personnel, 21,196 home guards, and 10,403 Special Police Officers (SPO) have been deployed across the state to ensure safe voting. Strict surveillance is in place to allow citizens to vote without fear.
