Anil Kumar Gupta Joins Airports Authority of India as Member (Planning)

Anil Kumar Gupta has taken on the role of Member (Planning) at the Airports Authority of India (AAI). In this position, he will be responsible for creating plans and setting goals for the development and modernization of both Greenfield and Brownfield airports. Gupta brings extensive experience in the Civil Aviation Sector, having served in various roles within AAI.

Before this appointment, Gupta was the Executive Director of Land Management & Business Development and the Executive Director of the Regional Connectivity Scheme. He is also a Director on the Board of the Multi Modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN).

With 35 years of experience as a Civil Engineer, Gupta has led numerous infrastructure projects, including the modernization of Kolkata and Jaipur Airports. As the founder of AAI’s Business Development Unit, he helped AAI expand into international markets and implemented innovative projects like Multi-Level Car Parking and Aviation Fuel Farms.

In his role as Executive Director of Land Management, Gupta managed AAI’s land assets and implemented a Lease Administration System for over 1000 leases across India. He also played a key role in forming a Settlement Advisory Committee for resolving land disputes and standardizing lease agreements.

Gupta contributed to the development and implementation of the MRO & Flying Training Policy as part of the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative. As Executive Director of the Regional Connectivity Scheme, he worked on the RCS-UDAN project to make air travel affordable and accessible to underserved areas, including proposed Water Aerodromes.
