Anil K Antony Visits Nagaland as New BJP In-Charge

Anil K Antony, the new BJP in-charge of Nagaland and Meghalaya, visited Nagaland for the first time after his appointment. He emphasized the party’s commitment to ensuring that Nagaland receives full support from the Central government.

Meeting with Leaders

Antony stated, “We have a very strong organisation here. I have started meeting all the leaders here. I still haven’t started meeting the allies…” He assured that Nagaland would get all the support from the centre and continue growing.

Keynote Address

Antony posted on his official X handle about his visit, mentioning his keynote address at the BJP extended state committee meeting. He focused on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s developmental agenda and the Act East policy. Senior leaders, including Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and State President Benjamin Yepthomi, attended the meeting.

Encouragement from State President

State BJP President Benjamin Yepthomi urged party members not to be discouraged by recent Lok Sabha election results but to continue working hard. He highlighted the success in the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections, where 25 out of 52 BJP candidates were elected, including 11 women councillors. Yepthomi noted that 44% of the BJP councillors are women, reflecting Prime Minister Modi’s vision of Nari Shakti and inclusive development.
