Free Gas Cylinders for Beneficiaries
The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a new scheme to provide three free gas cylinders to beneficiaries, starting from Diwali. This initiative is part of the ‘Super Six’ promises made by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) during the elections. The announcement was made by Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Minister, Nadendla Manohar, after a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The government plans to invest Rs 2,684 crore annually in this scheme, with beneficiaries receiving one cylinder every four months and reimbursement within 48 hours of payment.
Anna Canteen Relaunch
Another promise fulfilled by the TDP is the relaunch of Anna Canteen, which provides meals for Rs 5. The canteen was relaunched on Independence Day in Gudivada. Chief Minister Naidu emphasized the importance of these canteens in helping the poor and daily-wage earners. He announced plans to open 203 canteens across the state, with a daily maintenance cost of Rs 53 lakh. The canteens are supported by donations and are dedicated to TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao and Dokka Seethamma.
Andhra Pradesh Aadabidda Nidhi Scheme
Additionally, CM Naidu launched the Andhra Pradesh Aadabidda Nidhi scheme, providing Rs 1,500 monthly financial assistance to every female resident aged 18 to 59.
