Andhra Pradesh 2024-25 Budget Highlights
Introduction
On Monday, Andhra Pradesh’s Finance Minister, Payyavula Keshav, presented the budget for the 2024-25 financial year, totaling Rs2,94,427.25 crore. The budget aligns with the state’s vision of “Swarna Andhra@2047” and addresses issues from previous administrations.

The budget includes Rs2,35,916.99 crore for revenue expenditure and Rs32,712.84 crore for capital expenditure. The projected revenue deficit is Rs34,743.38 crore, and the fiscal deficit is Rs68,742.65 crore, which is 4.19% of the GSDP.

Social Welfare and Education
The NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme has increased from Rs3,000 to Rs4,000-15,000 per month, benefiting 64.38 lakh pensioners. Post Matric Scholarships will be disbursed directly to colleges. Allocations for marginalized communities include Rs18,497 crore for SC, Rs7,557 crore for ST, Rs39,007 crore for BC, and Rs4,376 crore for minority welfare. Rs4,285 crore is set aside for women, children, differently abled individuals, and senior citizens.
Education and Healthcare
Rs29,909 crore is allocated for School Education, Rs2,326 crore for Higher Education, and Rs18,421 crore for Health, Medical, and Family Welfare.
Infrastructure Development
Rs16,739 crore is allocated for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Rs11,490 crore for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, and Rs4,012 crore for Housing.
