Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan stated that urban encroachments have worsened the flood situation in the state. He criticized previous governments for failing to address the issue. Kalyan mentioned that around 384 Panchayats in 10 districts are affected by floods.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held a teleconference with ministers, collectors, and senior officials to ensure relief measures reach every household. He emphasized the need for extensive relief efforts and instructed officials to provide essential supplies to affected families.

Heavy rainfall has caused significant damage, especially in Krishna and Guntur districts. The Budameru floods submerged several areas, displacing nearly two lakh people. The government plans to provide Rs 5 lakhs compensation to the families of the deceased and deliver food, water, and other essentials to affected households.

Naidu also instructed officials to set up mobile Rythu Bazaars to prevent black marketing and sell vegetables at reasonable prices. He emphasized the importance of educating people on necessary precautions against viral fevers and mosquito-borne diseases, and setting up medical camps in each secretariat.
