On October 8, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. During the meeting, CM Naidu expressed his gratitude for the Cabinet’s approval of revised cost estimates for the Polavaram Project and support for the capital city, Amaravati.

Key Discussions

CM Naidu discussed several developmental projects for Andhra Pradesh, including the Swarna Andhra@2047 vision, which aims to transform the state into a USD 2.4 trillion economy by 2047. He also highlighted the state’s financial situation and requested the sanctioning of critical NHAI projects.

Infrastructure and Development

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for enhanced allocation under the PMUY scheme to benefit 60 lakh Below Poverty Line customers in Andhra Pradesh. He also sought acceleration of infrastructure projects in Amaravati.

Meeting with Union Minister of Railways

CM Naidu met with Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss the establishment of a Railway Zone with Visakhapatnam as headquarters. He requested the establishment of a National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology to boost IT skills in the state.

Further, CM Naidu proposed creating a Data Embassy and supporting the startup ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh. He also discussed improving railway connectivity and infrastructure, including a new railway line from Visakhapatnam to Amravati.

Both PM Modi and Minister Vaishnaw assured necessary support for these initiatives.
