Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu Celebrates 78th Independence Day in Vijayawada
On August 15, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu participated in the 78th Independence Day celebrations in Vijayawada. He extended his wishes to the citizens and emphasized the NDA government’s dedication to the state’s welfare and development.
State’s Financial Burden
CM Naidu highlighted that the state is burdened with Rs 9.74 lakh crore in debt due to the previous government. He assured that the new government is focused on simple and effective governance.
Development Initiatives
Naidu mentioned the implementation of a 100-day action plan to curb violence and the signing of a mega DSC project to address unemployment. He also noted that Andhra Pradesh has received investments totaling Rs 16 lakh crore and spent Rs 68,000 crore on irrigation from 2014 to 2019.
Polavaram Project
He stated that 73% of the Polavaram project was completed between 2014 and 2019, and it would have been finished if the TDP had continued for five more years.
Criticism of Previous Government
Naidu criticized the previous government for mismanagement, including looting lands, vandalizing Praja Vedika, and increasing illegal activities such as land grabbing, sand mining, liquor smuggling, and terrorism.
