On Friday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu criticized YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy for allegedly spreading false information. Reddy had claimed that the TDP government obstructed his visit to the Tirumala temple.

Naidu stated, “Police are on duty to maintain peace and order. Why is he spreading false information on this issue? Every religion has traditions and principles that deserve respect.” He emphasized the importance of respecting religious traditions and urged Reddy to respect the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD).

Naidu’s comments came after the TDP and its ally BJP demanded that Reddy sign a declaration meant for non-Hindus before visiting the temple. According to TTD rules, foreigners and non-Hindus must declare their reverence for Lord Venkateswara before their visit. Recently, faith declaration signboards have appeared in Tirumala.

Naidu added, “TTD has its own traditions and principles that should be respected by everyone, regardless of their religion. No one has said that Reddy should not go to the temple. Due to recent controversies, Hindu sentiments have been hurt, and devotees are reportedly organizing protests. If he visits Tirumala, these groups have indicated they will mobilize as well.”

Naidu also criticized Reddy’s intentions of visiting the Tirumala temple, accusing him of breaking rules and regulations in the past. He stressed the importance of respecting religious traditions and following TTD rules.

Naidu further accused Reddy of denying adulteration in the Tirupati Prasadam. He claimed that NDDB reports exposed the truth about adulterated ghee used in the prasadam manufacturing. Naidu also questioned Reddy for not declaring his faith and avoiding visits to the Tirumala temple.

Reddy responded by accusing Naidu of trying to obstruct his upcoming visit to the Tirumala temple. He claimed that the government is serving notices to YSRCP leaders to prevent their participation in the temple visit. Reddy also accused Naidu of lying about the Tirupati Laddu Prasadam to shift political focus.

The controversy began after Naidu claimed that substandard ingredients, including animal fat, were used in the preparation of Tirupati laddus during the previous YSRCP government.
