Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Visit Flood-Affected Vijayawada
On September 9, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inspected the flood-affected areas in Vijayawada. He met with the affected residents and assured them of comprehensive support to restore their lives. Naidu promised repairs for damaged homes and vehicles, financial aid, and provision of food and water supplies. He attributed the flooding to the previous government’s neglect of canals and irrigation projects, particularly breaches in the Budameru canal.
Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav highlighted the state’s medical response, including the deployment of medical officers and door-to-door health surveys to prevent disease outbreaks. Despite some areas still being flooded, many residents have been moved to relief camps.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited the area on September 6, assessing the damage to agricultural fields. He noted a 100% loss in crops like Banana, Haldi, Paddy, and vegetables, and assured central government support to the state during this crisis.
