Amrita Warring, representing the Congress party, has officially filed her nomination for the Gidderbaha Assembly seat in the upcoming Punjab by-polls. She is the wife of Punjab Congress Chief and MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. The Gidderbaha seat became vacant after Amarinder Warring won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Ludhiana.

Amrita expressed her gratitude to the Congress party for their trust and urged the Gidderbaha public to support her for continued development. Punjab Congress Chief Raja Warring expressed confidence in her candidacy, emphasizing the importance of voting for a reliable candidate.

The by-polls in Punjab will occur on November 13, covering four seats: Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal, and Barnala. The BJP has nominated Manpreet Badal for Gidderbaha, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon for the same seat. The Election Commission of India has scheduled the vote counting for November 23.
