Amrit Udyan Opens for Teachers on Teachers’ Day

New Delhi [India], September 4: The Amrit Udyan will be exclusively open for all teachers on Thursday to celebrate Teachers’ Day. Teachers can enter through Gate No. 35 of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, near North Avenue Road. A free shuttle bus service from Central Secretariat Metro Station to Gate No. 35 will be available for their convenience.

The Amrit Udyan Summer Annuals Edition, 2024 is open to the public from August 16 to September 15, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, except on Mondays. Over 1.5 lakh visitors have already visited the garden during this period. Visitors receive a seed paper to promote environmental awareness.

President Droupadi Murmu greeted teachers across the country on the eve of Teachers’ Day, wishing them success in building an enlightened community of students. She highlighted the importance of teachers in shaping future leaders and paid tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is celebrated as Teachers’ Day.

Teachers’ Day, celebrated on September 5, honors Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a great educationist, philosopher, and former President of India. He was the first Vice President of Independent India and the second President of India.
